TELL ME ABOUT PL!

A BASIC PERSONAL INTRODUCTION

In PL We Can Make Miracles Happen

I've been a member of the Church of Perfect Liberty (PL) for about 15 years and it's been an extraordinary decade-and-a-half of growth; learning and practicing the true spiritual capability that God has given all human beings. What I personally like about PL, is that it is based on practice. PL is uniquely designed, with a support structure to assist its members to lead more enjoyable lives through practice, based on exercising our spiritual potential as human beings.

Something I've learned in PL, is that miracles are not uncommon. They can occur on a regular basis in all our lives. PL teaches us how we can create miracles in our own lives and also help people around us improve their lives, even if they are suffering spiritually, physically, mentally or materially. Our sufferings and unhappiness can be overcome, and PL teaches us how to overcome them.

Even if our lives are progressing smoothly and we really don't need miracles, we can still all use some blessings from time to time. I've personally had numerous wishes realized and most of the goals I've set since joining PL, have also been achieved.

An important thing I learned very quickly in PL however, is that to change our lives for the better requires effort. The old adage, "God helps those who first help themselves," is quite accurate. If we are not first willing to make the effort to improve ourselves, then no one can help us. If on the other hand, we have a strong desire and the will to change, even overcoming illness, financial hardships, marital problems, troubles in raising our children, and any number of things, it can be achieved. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind from my experience with PL, that these things can all be overcome. As I have said however, we must have the desire coupled with the will to carry it out, and we must make the effort! Prayer alone is not enough.

Oyashikiri Prayer Even though the Ottawa Church that I attend is still small by comparison with the many PL churches with huge memberships in Japan, Brazil, and elsewhere, we have also had many dramatic cures occur here because of a member's will, faith and effort. For example, I saw a 65 year old woman who joined PL with severe stomach cancer and extreme pain, have her pain completely removed by the PL Oyashikiri Prayer that was performed for her by the minister. It happened because of her faith, her prayers, accepting the consultation she received from the minister, and by doing her sincere effort.

PL Holy Land I know another PL member, who had broken her lower backbone sometime before joining PL. She was unable to sit without extreme pain, nevertheless, she made an exceptional effort with practically no money, to fly to PL Headquarters and Holy Land in Japan, for the Founders' Day Celebration, which is held on August 1st each year. She returned with her pain completely gone.

Even in my own family, we have had many large blessings and numerous small ones occur on almost a daily basis. I'll discuss several of these later. Therefore, if we are willing and able to make the effort required to improve things in our lives, then PL can help us.

PL provides many tools for us to change our lives dramatically. Its up to us how we use these tools. The PL Church has a large support structure that exists solely to help its members, achieve those things we want to make our lives more enjoyable.

The Church of Perfect Liberty exists to assist us in fully developing our own individual self expressions. The ultimate goal being that of achieving world peace. PL never coerces its members to do anything. Therefore, improvements can only happen in our lives if we permit them to happen. For this reason, PL ministers will not normally give us counselling unless we ask for it. Even if it's obvious that we have certain problems, such as being accident prone, suffering from stress or anxiety, in constant pain, etc., a PL minister or assistant minister will not usually point out these problems and help us, unless we first ask for guidance. We are not ready to solve a problem if we have not yet recognized and accepted it ourselves. The exception would be if counselling is crucial to the life or health of a member.

Nevertheless, if we wish to improve our lives, we are taught to depend on our minister's consultation. I and my family have received consultations for many things and the advice given has always been of superior quality. In fact, I know many people who have visited psychiatrists for some of the same problems for which we have received counselling in PL. In most cases we have had our problems quickly resolved through following the advice given in the consultations, while I see people with similar problems under psychiatric care for many months or years. Often they also suffer from the side effects of pills they have been given to assist them in curing their problems.

I feel deeply grateful to PL for the numerous consultations we have received since joining. These have tremendously improved our lives and our only costs have been of our own choosing, in the offerings we have freely given the Church. When compared with the huge psychiatric bills that people pay, I often feel guilty that we PL members have been so deeply blessed, while thousands upon thousands of people are continuing to suffer.

I would now like to discuss some of the attributes of PL, that have assisted us on a daily basis.
