"Oshieoya-sama"
is the title PL uses for its spiritual head. Although Oshieoya-sama
cannot be translated literally, its meaning is similar to "master teacher."
Our present Oshieoya-sama is Takahito Miki, whose role as PL's head or
patriarch, is the dedication of his life to assisting the members. He was
invested as Oshieoya-sama in 1983 at the age of 26, upon the death of
the Second Oshieoya-sama.
The unusual spiritual abilities this man has been given by the grace of God in the role as Oshieoya-sama, have now been passed on through four generations. In each generation, because of the spirits of the previous Oshieoya-sama's and their virtue, the spiritual power of each succeeding Oshieoya-sama increases. One of the things that has been passed on with this position, is Oshieoya-sama's ability to remove pain and suffering from the members wherever they may be. This was the case with the woman I mentioned, who had her cancer pain removed. The minister or for that matter, an assistant minister, represent Oshieoya-sama on behalf of the members at their local church. Therefore, a minister or assistant minister can remove pain and suffering from a member when they do the special Oyashikiri Prayer, but because it is done on behalf of Oshieoya-sama, it is actually he who removes that pain and suffering. Throughout each month, pain and suffering accumulate on Oshieoya-sama's body from members around the world who have prayed for their pain and suffering to be removed. Then, on the 21st of each month, he passes all this pain and suffering to God in the PL Thanksgiving Day Service.
For this reason, the 21st of each month is a special day in PL. On this day, all the members do their best to attend the evening Thanksgiving Day Service in their church, to show their appreciation to Oshieoya-sama for his great personal sacrifice, and also to thank God for all the blessings they have received over the past month.
Oshieoya-sama is an extremely humble human being, who all PL members hold in great respect because of his personal sacrifice on their behalf. Although we pray to Oshieoya-sama, we are in essence praying to God. He is the PL channel to God and his whole life operates by intuition or what we refer to as God's whisper.
On the topic of intuition, PL teaches us how to use our intuition. I have
been able to improve my intuition through the help of PL. This has been a
great asset, since intuition, once we learn to distinguish it from normal
thought, is 100% accurate. Within my own job this has been particularly
helpful because I automatically know which tasks I should be doing. With the
type of work I do the priorities are always changing, so having an improved
intuition has been very useful.
